In the mood for down-and-dirty grooves, hot-boxing toasts, and bad-boy attitude? "Vansterdam" (Vancouver), British Columbia, crew RASTABOYZ roll out the dancehall, ragga, and R&B jams--and smoke a few while they're at it.

Biography

RastaBoyz was created in year 2000AD summer, in respect to the reggae scene in Vancouver, BC and surrounding interiors. Built on a solid foundation of reggae vibe with influence of hip-hop, soul, funk and calypso beats, two artists and a dj "rEdEyEz" was on their way to create a new and exciting place for reggae music in BC. RastaBoyZ has created a scene for themselves also by performing with local and international bands in town at various club venues and events i.e.: Bob Marley Birth Day annual concert, Bounty Hunter and the Mutineers, Triple Three Soul, N-didi Cascade and also opened for musician such as Culture, Half-Pint, Madd Professor, Lee Scratch Perry, Burning Spear and more....with an in town residency at such places like the Brick Yard, The Green Room, Purple Onion, Cafe Duex Soliels and Club Vibes in Vancouver, BC. RastaBoyZ is BCs newest and most verseitile reggae/hip-hop band for Canada's West Coast, RastaBoyZ group talent is made up of an all island boyz from Jamaica to Trinida in heart and soul, (OSC) original spoil child aka (Larry Phillip Jordan), Mekey rEdEyEz aka (Micahel Thompson) and Shy-Lox aka (Shem Trotman). Mc (OSC) with root in Mahaut, Dominica. he has grown to be the most highly versatile Dancehall Reggae Sing-Jay in Canada West Coast, shortly after establishing himself on the stage at numerous venues, he decided to take his music to the next level, to the studio, in over the last two years he has collaborate with numerous artists and producers, before coming to RastaBoyz(RBz), performing live at Grace land, Impulse and many other club venues, with permanate residence in RBz, OSC has capture his audience with his talent and graceful performance for the Art of music. DJ (rEdEyEz) has been selecting with reggae sound systems for the past 12 years, with strong influence in hip-hop, reggae, soul and other music genres. rEdEyEz skills on the turntables instruments stem way back when he was 16yrs old, in the early 80s until present, rEdEyEz has played alongside: King Turbo, Golden claw, Stone Love, Rebel Tone, Super Dee,... Known on the East coast as the wicked mix selector, he has moved to Vancouver, BC to establish on the same circuit of promoting the reggae vibe, spinning at various clubs in Town and out i.e.: Club Elite, the Purple Onion, the Aztec, Club 212, Sonar etc. rEdEyEz is the main operator for the sound system call RAGGA SOUND which does private party, clubs and special events. Mc (Shy-Lox) of the Trinidad and Tobago Trotmans, son of the famous Trinidadian Bill Trotman with his first performance at Madison Square Garden with his father at 8yrs old Shy-Lox influence have been deep into calypso from his native land, traveling back to New York in the late 90s Shy-Lox got hook on the reggae and hip-hop music genre, recently move to Vancouver with opening Mic at Shine, The Star Fish Room and the Voda Lounge with Zack Santiago, doing emcee at Bar None and others clubs Shy-Lox has been on the reggae circuit playing and opening for the likes of Baby Sham, Julie Black, Baby Blue Sound Crew and others, Shy-Lox is no stranger to this type of music mix.
