Editor's review

The Victoria, B.C. songsmith recalls a time, only a decade past, when our strongest singer-songwriters weren't afraid of decent production values. Jamieson's songs are unabashedly crisp (take that, Bonnie Prince!), drenched in wistful piano/guitar melodies, and centered on his satin whisper.

Biography

Reid Jamieson is a classic Canadian heartbreaker with an incredible voice and a magical way with melodies. His latest full length disc The Unavoidable Truth, was produced by Josh Finlayson (Gord Downie Band , Skydiggers) and features guest appearances from Sarah Harmer & Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco) while showcasing his choirboy ways, therapeutic lyrics and country-flavoured pop hooks. It's 2007 and Reid is hard at work writing for his next album. Reid recently moved from Toronto to Vancouver Island (Victoria BC), and is a regular on CBC's Vinyl Cafe. Please stay tuned for more from this tender troubadour...

What the heck does he sound like? and well you might ask. Click on any of the many MP3 links for a listen. File alongside fellow rootsy singer-songwriters: Ron Sexsmith, Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley, Glenn Tilbrook and Neil Finn.
