Editor's review

Fans of the alt-pop sounds of No Doubt will thrill to the sounds of Ringleader. Angelic vocalist Lena Esposito is more Sarah McLaughlin than Avril Lavine, while the music has the smart songwriting edge of Lisa Loeb. Ringleader is the one to watch in this modern pop circus.

Biography

Ringleader is a Washington D.C. area based modern rock band. Combining a sharp focus on songwriting and vocal melody with heavy guitars and synth textures, Ringleader released it's debut ep No Slide Guitar in the fall of 2005. Using the ep as a template, the band has been busy writing new songs, honing in on their sound, and playing live.

Not afraid to borrow from one style or decade to another within the rock genre, Ringleader tries not only to embrace the past but also to sound like the present. The songs "Bonds", "South Dakota", and "Lovetrap" provide the basic, heavy but hook-filled modern pop sound while "Imaginary Best Friend" and "Sound Barrier" showcase a more quiet and introspective side.

Throughout the year, Ringleader will continue writing as well as recording and playing live it's growing backlog of material.
