Call him a blasphemer if you must--but one listen to Roger Mendez's deeply felt roots tunes explains why he'd be tempted to call himself Jah. The man was born to croon, and his Marley-style reggae--all swelling beats and plucky rock licks--is the perfect outlet for that spliffy tenor.

Biography

What is Rodjjah's secret? Rodger Mendez now known as Rodjjah is raw talent offering samples of World music, Reggae Dancehall and R&B. His strength rests with his fashionable appeal, high energy delivery which forces audiences to focus on his every motion. This distinguish's Rodjjah as a versatile entertainer. Rodjjah was the lead singer for the United Force Showband in Jamaica for 8 years. In this capacity he entertained and delighted vacationers from around the world. During this time Rodjjah mastered his repertoire of over 35 original songs and more than 200 cover songs. His amazing musical ability and completely energetic choreography keep the audience captivated and dancing to the beat. Rodjjah performs weekly to audiences of 250 or more of Jamaica's top resorts such as Sandals, Ciboney, Renaissance Jamaica Grande, Super Clubs Resorts and the Ritz Carlton. Rodjjah's performance at MTV's Spring Break 2000 in Negril has drawn rave reviews from the American and Jamaican press. Additionally he has opened for International artist such as Jeffery Osborne, Beanie Man, Dennis Brown, Silk, and Natalie Cole during sold out performances at the ten thousand seat National Arena in Kingston, Jamaica . In addition to his musical accomplishment, in May of 1999 United Force Band lead once again by Rodjjah, won the award for *Best Showband* at the Jamaica Federation Music Award Ceremony. Rodjjah and the United Force Showband has performed throughout Canada in cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Cuba. They also did a stunning six month stint at club Java Jive and Hot Crocket Tokyo, Japan where Rodjjah's Island sound had everyone young and old begging for more.
