Founded in 2000 as a traditional string band, Stockholm's Roundhouse has evolved its approach to include pop-folk vocals, while still keeping a banjo at the heart of the sound, and a subtle acoustic guitar for warmth. The group was right to showcase singer Joseph Vila Garcia, whose gorgeous, empathetic vocals set Roundhouse apart from the pack.
Roundhouse consists of:
Jim Herlin (Guitars, Ukulele, Gitarron and bass) Jim was born september 1974 in Stockholm. He started playing guitar at the age of 7, influenced early on by country and bluegrass music. With a rebelish mind he quickly started playing the traditional songs his own way. Calypso seemed to creep into his music more or less naturally
Joseph Vila Garcia (Vocals) Joseph was born march 1979 on Mallorca (Spain). At the age of six he came to Sweden with his parents. He has extensive experience with acting and singing, starting at the age of 4 on 'Teatro Principal' in Spain. Today, Joseph is living in Stockholm, acting, singing and writing. During the spring of 2002, he ran into Jim and Kristian playing on the grass in Kungstr?dg?rden in central Stockholm and now we have Roundhouse...
Erik Fridell (Acordeon)..........
