Sabbath Knights came into being mainly due to the influence of a band formed in 1968. This band basically created the whole genre of what later was to be called "Heavy Metal". This band (was) is called Black Sabbath. It is mainly a "RIFF" oriented minor root 5th based music. Most of the bands (Sabbath Knights) originals, lyrically and musically, follow this interesting pattern. Sean Cope (Guitars) and Scot Clayton (Drums) being the two originating members of Sabbath Knights were heavily influenced by this style of music. Black Sabbath has always had "underground" following, but in recent years has experienced a huge resurgence in popularity.
Sean Cope (Guitars) musical background spans 15 years, but has been concentrating on the guitar for more than 5. He has had previous band membership experience, but left in order to
concentrate on a purer form of musical literation. He can read music as well as TAB (tablature) "on the fly". His major influences besides Black Sabbath, are the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix.
Scot Clayton (Drums) began his music affiliation at the age of 10 when he began playing piano. After several years he "graduated" to the saxophone, and then another couple of years started on the guitar. Despite this, the drums had always been his passion. Scots major musical influences besides Black Sabbath, are Ronnie James Dio, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Judas Preist, Jethro Tull and Kiss.
Ivan Murillo (Bass) has been playing bass guitar for almost half of his life. Ivan is well versed in all aspects of musical literation which enables him to play the keyboards, drums, and guitar proficiently. His major musical influences besides Black Sabbath, are Iron Maiden, and Metallica.
Randy Richter began his musical affiliation at the age of 10 on the drums. He later decided that his calling was being a vocalist. He joined his first band at the age of 16, and began touring extensively, though family obligations required him to "temporarily" quit the business. Randys major influences are Grand Funk, Pink Floyd, and the Eagles.
