Editor's review

The rousing, sometimes raucous rebels in Sacred Hoop will crash your party but win your heart in the end. Vrse Murphy's intoxicating brew of beats contain original samples, which fit snugly over well-programmed drums. Self-loathing MC Luke Sick breathes firewater-laced rhymes dealing with boozing, battling, and womanizing. The canny cocktail of music is topped off by DJ Marz's top-shelf turntable trickery.

Biography

Vrse Murphy and Luke Sick are the worldly production crew and rapper/producer tandem known as Sacred Hoop and are held responsible for the galactic Miasmatic Recordings label which has released 7+ efforts on vinyl and cd by the inexhaustible duo. Outside their own group, Vrse has produced beats for The Bachelors (Miasmatic) as well as videos released by various skate and snowboard entities, (i.e. Trasher Magazine) while Luke Sick has loaned his vocal and lyric writing talent to seminal punk rock icons: Dwarves (Sub Pop/Epitaph). Millions of girls have been loved, and yet many more are waiting. When in France, Vrse has been known to say, “Another hotel and a mademoiselle…”

The Hoop is regularly joined on stage and in the studio by a cohesive hodge-podge of surly co-defendants who are crucial to the fullness of the Sacred sound.
