San Francisco's Sciflyer turn the textural elements of avant-garde rock--strung-out guitar loops, roiling rhythms--into something clear-eyed, tidily structured, and (dare we say it?) poppy. Well, indie-poppy, perhaps. It's the Pinback trick given a new outlet, and that's good news to us.
