The road from Minnesota to New York City has been tread by some eminent feet. This Twin Cities/Brooklyn pair tweaks the tradition of high-art, down-home folk that Dylan's trip forged in our musical minds. Scrapomatic stake their husky country vocals to sinewy blues licks and juke-joint rhythms.
Biography
Mike Mattison and Paul Olsen both hail from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Schooled individually in jazz, roots and funk music, they began playing together in the mid-1990's and were recognized with Minnesota Music Award nominations for the best R&B group and best male vocalist. They decamped to Brooklyn and have stomped their feet through nearly every venue in the metropolitan area, including Carnegie Hall. In the near future, they plan to stomp on you. Outside of Scrapomatic, Paul is active as an ASCAP award-winning songwriter, producer and musical director. Mike sings for the Derek Trucks Band.
