Editor's review

Alto saxophonist and flautist Sean Stackpoole plays straight-ahead bop standards and originals with a native tenderness that should not be misconstrued as naivete. Rather, his honeyed tone draws out the inner sweetness of both ballads and upbeat numbers, and in doing so, touches on their pulse.
