Shametown

Childhood friends Alan Little and David Schrimsher have been making music together for fifteen years. Formerly a drummer, Alan began playing guitar, harmonica and writing music while in college at Appalachian State University. Meanwhile David was playing in bands in Auburn, Alabama and traveling the neighboring states playing guitar. Jay Wilson was working and playing piano in recording studios with some of the most notable musicians and engineers in Alabama.

These three musicians, while having played together in various combos before, decided to begin playing as a trio in 2002, each having spent several years in the Huntsville music scene. Since then Pat McCool joined the band on bass guitar. A veteran musician, having played in several of the area's well known bands, Pat's solid rhythm and tone provide the foundation of the Shametown sound.

The Shametown roster had a unique chemistry that reignited each musician's passion for the music they play. Each was able to bring their own style into the band's music.

In the early 2004, the band added drummer, Solomon Grable, for a stretch that became the peak of the band's live performances. In December 2004, when Solomon played his last show with the band, before moving to Los Angeles. The band currently plays in its four-piece format, though a drummer will likely soon be added to the band.

Shametown's music is honest and thoughtful, reflective of the members' experiences writing and playing music. A unique combination of rhythm and blues, folk, country, and rock; it hints of the south but is not afraid to blaze its own trails, a sound not like any you'll find.
