Sokrates, aka Sok The Virgo, got his start as a DJ in the Bay Area underground hip hop scene in 1997. As a co-founder of the Four Corners Coalition, Sok was throwing wack shows by the age of 16, and dope ones by the age of 17. After a brief stint in Washington DC, Sok re-emerged onto the Bay Area Music Scene in 2002 hustling his conscious banger, Niagara River, the first Collectiv Records release ever. Since then, Sok has gained recognition as one of the most talented contributors to the Bay Area Hip Hop community, and is now poised for big thangs. It has been over two years since Sok's debut album, Elenchus, caught the attention of his peers and mentors at home in the Bay. In the meantime, Sok has been demolishing every stage he steps on, striking fear in the hearts of the headliners who follow (except Keak Da Sneak, he didn't look that scared). If you're not checking for big Sok in 2005, then you should be slapped...it's simple. Check out the music, or join us on the Four More Years Tour this spring...Most importantly, check for the upcoming 12" vinyl single from Sok, called "I Came Around."
