It's wonderful to know that the there are artists out there that haven't forgotten the classic sounds of R&B/Soul. Solomon Burke brings it home with an experienced voice and a strength in his pipes that rivals many artists today. The organ sounds really drive the feel of the song with solid drumming and backup vocals. Simply outstanding.

drinking out jelly jars, swinging my legs of the end of the porch.
satin heels that matched dresses with buttons down the back.
sharkskin pants with two/toned suede shoes and shirts that matched.
everybody wore hats and used hankys. silk ones, cotton ones, starched ones.
we were southern gentry. watermelon balls. assocition meetings and the sweeetest soul music.
some of it i was sent to the other room, like that was hold back the music. the words were raw. sweaty. liquour heated.
these were my memoeries of a family long buried. Thank You, Solomon Burke
