The South of France has a long history of quality exports, but most tend to involve the latest vintage. Sons of Vikings offer something rather less refined: gut-busting heavy metal, with cataclysmic drumming, Axl-esque vocals, and riffs heavier than the tannins on a Languedoc red wine.
Biography
Originating in the south of France, family Sons of Vikings was born in May 2004.
The musical influences of the band members are varied (Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns n? Roses, Sonata Arctica, Helloween, Manowar?) and this certainly made it possible for the group to advance.
Sons of Vikings has its proper style, difficult to classify. Some say that Sons of Vikings is the first Chipp' n Metal band in the world!
More seriously, this is a kind of fast heavy metal and tinted melody which adapts the music and the voice to the texts and will never stop on a preset style!
October 2005 : The band recorded a first 4 titles demo " Viking Size" and opened its web site : www.sonsofvikings.com
This band has a true vocation, more than to make music : to revive Heavy Metal and the Vikings. This is of great importance to every one in the band.
2006 was the year of the consecration during our first rock festival (duels rock, Rockstore). Sons of Vikings won the opportunity to record a 4 titles maxi CD "Heavy Metal" which will be released at the beginning of 2007.
In January 2007, Sons of Vikings is selected to take part in the final phases of Castel' Rock Festival 2007 with Europe 2 (French radio).
The projects for this new year are to make as many tour dates as possible and to find a label able to assist Sons of Vikings, for introducing its music to the greatest number.
