If Ace Of Base reinvented itself and made a kickin' comeback, the group might sound like SSION. The female front-woman sounds a little Stevie Nicks-ish, which is, for the most part, in her favor, and the beats are buoyant and fun with a slight dark edge. If you like Italo disco and electro-punk, check this group out.
A departure from their previous ultra-distrorted B-52's meets Pussy Galore ruckus, their latest release, Fool's Gold, fuses new wave/synth-pop, glam, punk, classic hi-NRG rave, and Italo-disco to create a true sleaze-pop masterpiece: ten unstoppably catchy (and surprisingly witty) tracks alternating between raunchy dancefloor anthems and heartbreakingly sincere confessional pop.
Coinciding with the release of Fool's Gold on Feb 12th, Sleazetone Records will also be releasing a 12" version of the ultra-smooth pop disco masterpiece "Clown" (named one of Gorilla Vs. Bear's top 50 songs of 2007). GLASS CANDY offers a Moroder-esque italo remix of the track, "MOVES!!!" of the Trouble & Bass crew (Drop The Lime, Passions) transforms the song into a squelching banger, and Chicago's MURDERBOT drops his extended disco edit.
