Born in Capetown,South Africa,played Violin,Oboe,Recorder,R&B Guitar,then Jazz Piano.Came to live in New York in 1967,had the good fortune to play with many of my heroes including Elvin Jones,Roland Kirk,Ted Curson,Billy Hart,Booker Ervin,Howard McGhee,Wilbur Ware,Jimmy Garrison,Clifford Jordan,Charles Moffet,Jimmy Lovelace,Victor Sproles,Dick Berk,Glenn Moore,Gene Perla,Joe Farrell,Sheila Jordan and other luminaries. I then moved to Boston,graduated from the New england Conservatory with a jazz piano and Oboe degree..Mentors there included Jaki Byard,George Russell,Thad Jones,John Lewis,Kenny Dorham,Bob Brookmeyer,Frank Foster,Gerry Mulligan,Cecil Mcbee,Buell Neidlinger and more.. I found that I hated touring and love the music.. so I produce it at home and market it on the web to all of you...
