Biography

The Steel Creek Band has been around for over 12 years. They are a local band from the Raleigh N.C. area. The "Band" was formed originally by Chuck Curtis, Trey Martin, Bill & Doug McDonald. The group has had a mellow sound with 3 partư harmonies. Much pride was taken with many original tunes penned by Bill & Doug. The group uses Bluegrass roots and branches off into the Folk music style as well. Many local musicians have been involved with the Steel Creek image over the years, including Hank Bowman on the upright Bass, Jeff Aebi on the Mandolin, Joe Martin on the Banjo, Keith Thomas and Clifton Preddy on the fiddle. Most of these musicians were the core group, that for years made the Hoffman Stringed Instrument Jam Session's the place to be on thursday nights. Present members: Chuck Curtis hails from Cedar Rapids Iowa. Chuck has a vocal background in Barber Shop Quartet and Folk music. His strong lead vocal and harmony arraignments have defined the Steel Creek Band sound for most of it's 10 year history. Chu
