Editor's review

English and American alternative rock can get so formulaic. Fortunately, we have the Swedes to mix it up. The Straydogs are straight-ahead post-punk, with guitar sounds more like the Kinks or Stooges, and less Zeppelin or the Stones. The Hives, or to a lesser extent Bettie Serveert, have made inroads into getting appreciation going for European rockers outside of England, the Straydogs are making great strides.

Biography

The Straydogs emerged from the dark alleys of Uppsala, Sweden back in the fall of 1999.

With the ambition of combining strong hooks and catchy melodies with raw power and high energy punk rock, The Straydogs have since then been working hard towards perfecting their sound and bringing it to the masses.

In the music you can trace influences from the past 40 years, from The Kinks, The Sonics and Ramones to Pixies and Weezer to name but a few.

Over the years the lineup has changed leading up to the current configuration with Erik Osmark on vocals, Pontus Larsson and Ola Gustavsson on guitars, Jonas Olsson on bass guitar and Pontus Gager behind the drums.

Be sure to check out The Straydogs on a live stage nearby, something you definitely don t want to miss...
