Here's the funny thing about death metal: at a certain speed and intensity, it turns into sonic abstraction and enters the world of post rock through the back door. That's certainly the case with Tulsa's Submerged in Dirt, whose flesh-eating intensity can't hide the fact that their sound is stealthily smart.
Submerged in Dirt is a modern death metal band from North-Eastern OK, based in the town of Tulsa. The goal of this band has been to write better songs and get them to the people in any way possible, in order to satisfy the heavy music fan's need for musicality and originality. SID has every intention of creating a new, higher, standard of metal. We've released an unofficial e.p., Twitch Of The Death Nerve, in August of 2005. It is FREE to all who ask for it, and in most cases hand-delivered by us. The full-length Godstorm is complete and will soon be available to you for free also. Both works are self-produced. When Submerged In Dirt started, it was only Lee and Royce, who shared a love for heavy and well-writtin music. We soon found the best musicians we could ask for, James, Justin and Zach. And with five full-fledged members, we're taking this music to the stage in a war against the watered down, simplistic hard rock and cookie cutter emo crap that threatens to take hold of the heavy music scene. We are practicing non-stop and working harder than any other band in our area to be able to deliver the music you want, which just so happens to be the music that we love to create.
