Editor's review

Every performance piece is simply remarkable. TaoBrothers of EdenDust inject blues, jazz, and soul into their music and have you asking for more. The avant-garde structures and overall groove of the music are deep and passionate.

Biography

Why this name?

Tao, simply translated means, "The Way". Thus that part of our name represents our desire to lead 'The Way' by using our music for a means greater than self-promotion. We are spiritual beings having a Brotherly experience and so it was only natural to also represent that as part of our official production name. It's also a derivative of our musical style, TAOSOUL, that celebrates the philosophy of creation from a deeply spiritual and connected place.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

This medium of streaming music at will is incredible. We particularly like the immediate feedback to something that's fresh, as oppose to having to talk about tunes long after they've left your front brain, so to speak.

Would you still sign a record contract with a major label?

No, not if it meant losing control of the music and our message. Your influences? We really haven't found many who are doing exactly what we're attempting to do. That said, we admire and respect those spiritually connected artists, such as Bjork, Shirley Horn, Prince, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Seal, Rachelle Ferrell and K-OS.

Favorite spot?

We have a passion for Sacred Places.., places where the energy is unique, healing.., and profound. All places can be this at one time, or another. We find it has more to do with the people, than the location.

Equipment used:

You'd be really surprised!! Sometimes the simplest equipment can have an incredible result. We don't feel particularly drawn to a brand or type of equipment.., it's a spirit we look for in all things, mechanical or biological.

TAOSOUL

Writing, Singing and Performing from a Deeply Spiritual and Connected Place.

The Way into The Soul.
