San Francisco's ambient noise masters Tarentel create shimmering walls of dissonance. Their gently undulating soundscapes take the listener through worlds unseen by human eyes and only rarely heard by human ears. The brave will follow, while the meek will stay at home watching reruns of their record collection.
Hailing from San Francisco, California, Tarentel began in late 1995 when Danny Grody met Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. With a constantly changing line-up that has included John Hughes, Trevor Montgomery, Patricia Kavanaugh, Kenseth Thibideau, Jeffrey Rosenberg, and now Jim Redd, Tarentel has released a number of singles, EPs, and two full-length records. Their predominantly instrumental compositions read like chapters in an epic novel - cinematic and absolutely breathtaking. Tarentel's tidal force and blissful elegance elicit the kind of ecstatic response their name suggests.
