Young Maryland musicians with vim and vigor, Charm City Players are a reminder of the early '70s when bands like Mott the Hoople, Slade, and Uriah Heap ruled the radio. Soulful, yet hard, their vocals are in step with the power chords and blues runs of the fiery guitarists, capturing a live sound on record that is rare in an age of overproduction.
The Charm City Players provide a truly unique, refreshing sound. Rather than following the monotonous sound and current trends in rock music, the band infuses its music with a certain sense of feeling and soul that is currently not heard on radio. While the band is relatively young (ages 22-24), their sound is extremely mature and original. The band looks to the past and takes all of its musical influences, including classic rock, blues, southern rock, jazz, reggae and soul, and combines them to form a definitive sound with universal and modern appeal that is embraced by young and old alike. The band has won over all of their audiences and gained a rabid fan base with their extremely energetic live show, which combines their technical abilities, showmanship, and raw, honest emotion. The set is comprised of original numbers, as well as crowd favorite covers.
