Editor's review

Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks play indie rap for both its retro-digging roots and its postmodern sense of beatmaking. On the acidly funny "88," they rhyme about Smurfs, mime old-skool beatboxing, and sample Men without Hats, all without breaking their--surely Adidas-clad--stride.

Biography

Giving you a heads up that Green Label Sound launched a "singles only" music label today, and to inaugurate the series hip-hop duo The Cool Kids and lo-fi rockers Matt & Kim will be releasing exclusive tracks only available on GreenLabelSound.com.  Up first is The Cool Kids who have released an exclusive track entitled, "Delivery Man".

Spearheaded by Mountain Dew, Green Label Sound is a unique music program designed to help up and coming artists.  An eclectic roster is to be announced as the year rolls on with several more exclusive tracks.   Again, all of these tracks will be made available for free download exclusively at GreenLabelSound.com.  In addition, a Green Label Sound music tour will offer participating musicians the chance to introduce their music to new fans across the country.

"We entered into the Green Label Sound program because we saw it as an opportunity to put a song out to the whole world with the backing of something that everyone grew up on," said Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids. "Mountain Dew is not trying to push their product through music like everyone else; they just wanna support music.  ... And with us tying to set up our new record without a record company, Mountain Dew gives us an unexpected helping hand to get up those steps."

Mikey Rocks of The Cool Kids added this.  "Green Label Sound is giving artists like ourselves an opportunity to get to a different scale than we were previously on.   The program gives us a further reach than we would've had on our own, but we still get to keep the same creative independence that we like to have."
