Brooklyn doesn't seem to have sunk its hipster fangs into this three-piece, whose Americana remains thoroughly highway-bound. Chunky electric guitars, searching melodies, and hard-luck vocals make this a country-rock not subject to the vagaries of its times.
Presenting The Coydogs, a three-piece band from Brooklyn that blends 60's pop, country, and soul into a stylish alternative to mainstream rock. The band's accomplishments include placements on many popular TV programs including The Real World Sydney (MTV), Making the Band (MTV), The Riches (FX), Rob and Big (MTV), Life of Ryan (MTV). They also headlined a showcase at the 2007 South by Southwest music festival. Ready to take on a larger audience, the band ventured into the recording studio and emerged with their first fill-length self titled album to be released April 8, 2008. The album itself draws on influences from 50's and 60's soul (the Curtis Mayfield, Temptations) and country (Earnest Tubb, The Everly Brothers) as well as 70's punk (The Clash, Dils). Suggested listening: "Daggers," "River Ran Red," "Dead and Buried," and "Nothing on Me"
