G'Day, We're the Homebrew Barrell Band from the Tasman Penninsula in Tasmania. It's quite possibly the most beautiful place on earth, and we're proud to call it home. We basically started from a jam session in march 2007 at bass player Mike Sansom-Gower's place. Among the folks present at this jam were Craig "Wally" Wallis, the singer/songwriter who pens almost all the tunes, he and lovely Tracy Stokes sang a few of his songs with Craig strumming his trusty old acoustic guitar, Dave Campbell was there jamming on the drums that night, and upon hearing Craigs music immediately suggested they come over to his place to record a few of his songs and get them out on the local radio station and the interweb. Things don't happen that fast down here in Tassie, and it took 6 months to get the first song "Best of Friends" finished, albeit a little rough, though it is the first time Craig had ever done a professional recording. The first copy was taken down to the local radio station 97.7 Tasman FM and was broadcast, it was an instant favorite with the listeners and recieved numerous requests for a number of weeks. After knocking the first single on the head, we decided to get serious and do a proper album, Craig has approximately 60 songs written already, so after sitting down and picking the best of them to take into pre-production where with the help of Dave the arrangements are tweaked or reworked into songs that will set your feet tappin' as well as touching your heart. We'd love to say the album will be out on such n such a date, but like we said... things don't happen s'fast down these parts, so it might be a while, but don't fret, we'll be postin' some new songs real soon. Thanks for visiting us here on the internet, y'all come back now, y'hear!!!
