Singing like some mix of the Arctic Monkeys and Led Zeppelin, guitaring like a cross of Creedence and Kings of Leon, this Isle of Wight five proves shrewd at mashing rock past and present. And the fine evocation of classic rock gives hope that today's upstarts may yet remember their blues roots.
"Cool Bandname, a rough sound, great hooks, intelligent songwriting…what more could you want from one of the most promising new guitar bands..." - Dazed And Confused
"Tirelessly devoted to their music, bewildered by the scene in which they have to operate, this five piece from the Isle Of Wight are a fearsome live proposition, with a repertoire of towering rock tunes..." - Karl O Keefe – Live On Stage
"Jackson Analogue have come up with a sound that shuns any preconceptions or formulas.
It’s just great Rock'n'Roll music." – Lodown
"You know they are going to be massive, been nothing like this in the UK Music scene for years." - The Fly
After fighting to get out of their contract with Island/Universal for the past 2 years, Isle of Wight native 5-piece Jackson Analogue are finally set to release their debut album "And Then...Nothing" through Groove Attack Productions in November 2007.
Recorded in a Victorian water tower on what was once Queen Victoria's estate, “And Then…Nothing” displays a dazzling range of influences and beautifully crafted songs.
From the gentle acoustics of “Concrete Hands” to the Hammond infused sweat soaked melodies of “Stop”, from the punky riot of “Come On” to the beautifully epic album closer “Moody Man Left”, this is an album that is breathtaking in its breadth and glued together with compelling songwriting. The album was produced by Jackson Analogue with some notable help from Head (PJ Harvey, Massive Attack) who helped in areas of production and mixing at both Studio Luca (Isle Of Wight) and Massive Attack's 1 point 6 studio.
The band have a deep respect for the blues-rock of Muddy Waters and Credence Clearwater Revival, a classic British sensibility that derives from a love of The Who, Led Zep and Family, and an affinity with the '90s rock and grunge of the band's own youth. These wildly divergent influences are all mixed and matched to create a sound that is uniquely their own, taking the best of rock 'n' roll's rich patchwork and re-stitching it in new shapes and patterns.
Jackson Analogue are a band for all those who still believe that music is about passion, not fashion, and the right song counts for more than the right haircut. The lusty five piece create music that is raw and vibrant, characterized by epic riffs, memorable songwriting, killer vocals and maverick attitude. The perfect analogue music for the digital age? You decide…
Their second album ("Snakes and Wolves") is already in the making. Just recently Jackson Analogue were invited to do a live session at BBC Maida Vale studios for Mark Lamarr's show "God's Jukebox", which aired on BBC Radio2 on June 2nd.
Fresh off support slots for The Who (on their recent UK gigs), the Fratellis, and earlier notable dates with fellow Isle of Wight natives The Bees, as well as and a storming performance at 2006’s Isle Of Wight festival, Jackson Analogue are set to play a series of dates across the UK and Europe in early Fall, dates tba soon!
