The strangely lulling bleepscape of '90s video games is the main resource for this former Sega Genesis composer's new production. Not that his work sounds like some "Street Fighter 2" sound track--but it conjures a sort of dreamy utopia that turns to R&B under Kirby Dominant's cool croon.
Bay Area producer Kevin Riley's unique yet peculiar
stylings come from his background making video game
music in Japan. "Yeah, for the Sega Genesis" he says.
"That was a while ago but you can hear the pulse of
the game industry in my textures. You can still hear
the blips and bleeps."
Riley is currently composing music for rap vet Kirby
Dominant and working on his solo debut entitled
"Sounds Of Our Robotic Nation."
