Mishearing the lyrics "to be" as "to bay" is just part of the fun of listening to singing Australians. This New South Wales folk-pop outfit pens beguiling little guitar melodies, then sings them with an utter lack of guile. They can't help but make their point, auditory mishaps and all.
A funky, summery, surf-soaked CD called "Going With The Flow" by "The Love Bus", an independent band from the utopian North Coast of NSW, was released in December, 2005.
The album won the North Coast Entertainment Industry Award for "Album of the Year"judged by Catherine Haridy of Festival/Mushroom records. They also scooped the "New Recording Talent" award.
It's the kind of melodic multilayered folk-influenced groove that's an instant passport to a banana lounge, or winding forest roads or salt-streaked evenings by the beach. Songsmith Felicity Burdett's lyrics reflect a love of life, of the weather, the earth and the elements, and a belief that it's all worth getting out of bed for.
The Love Bus are like an antidote for angst, upbeat and soul-filled. There has also been a real commitment to musicality and impeccable production values.
The band includes John L Fisher on keys, Julz Parker on electric guitar who has played with Tommy and Phil Emmanuel, Joe Parker on fretless bass and Rohan Hems who's drummed for Phil Emmanuel as well.
The album is available at all major music outlets and online via the band's website www.thelovebus.com.au
