Biography

The Poet Dogs are a four-piece band from deep in the green hills of Shropshire. The band is a harmonic conjunction of four medieval rhyming canines:

Gary Guitar, Lead Vocals Jane Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards, Sax etc. Jake Bass, Vocals Sean Drums, Vocals

Rehearsing solidly in a converted temple underneath The Wrekin for centuries, The Poet Dogs have created a unique sound which blends adrenaline fuelled guitar pop with medieval vibes, rock and roll riffs and nursery rhyme sensibilities. As much as possible is packed into the songs themselves and when playing live, band members double-up on different instruments throughout the set so as not to be shackled by the constraints of four-piecedom.

The Poet Dogs tackle any type of style and write songs about everything from the secret of everlasting life to the psychological perils of being a fish. Fighting against blandness and mediocrity The Poet Dogs strive to be different, and settle for nothing less than insanity. There is no simple way to describe the music. Hearing is believing.

The band recently returned from virtual Canada where they lived and rehearsed for a year in a small native settlement in the Rockies. Having been back to basics and lived on the fruits of the earth, they are now ready to take on the world armed with timeless punked-up polaroids of past, present and future that capture the every essence of being alive.

Now ready to take the music world in their energetic stride, the band is excited about the future and looking forward to another century of hard rocking, guitar based barking madness. Gary, Jane, Jake and Sean would like to entice and welcome you into the world of The Poet Dogs .. a slightly surreal, yet enchanting place to be.
