As was the case when he was with People Under the Stairs, Tres Records' original prophet is hardly content to be just another L.A. rapper. However, that doesn't mean he's going to ditch the L.A. sound. Thes' hypnotic hip-hop collages mix J5-style drumbeats with vintage SoCal sonics and his own Gen X revelations.
Biography
Thes One is commonly known in the vast landscape of Hip-Hop as 1/2 of the dynamic duo, People Under The Stairs. With his partner in rhyme (and beats), Double K, People Under The Stairs have become the go-to group for fans in need of the no-frills (or fills), hardcore hip-hop. Thes stretches out and gets sensitive on the first record ever put out by Tres Records, "Noonen". The song is simply about getting to a point in life where its time to make things more seriously. Thes's first step is getting up early. The 12" also features the poignant but funny "Yatch Club" and the just plain funny "D'Nunzio". Track it down if you can.
