Twin City Playboys bring back a sound that's been missed since the late 80s-early 90s when Zydeco and Cajun were at their peak of popularity, especially up North in NYC and all over film scores (and themes) and TV commercial soundtracks. I thought maybe all the popular artists hailing from Lake Charles and nearby had retired, and the music faded into oblivion. Playboys are not like Bob Wills's band, except for the name. They are bonafide Cajun/Zydeco, even if they don't sing in French, from these two sample tracks. I'd buy the whole album to see what else they offer. It's foot-stompin' Cajun two-step and waltz that makes you want to embrace and whirl your accordion along with the music of the band.
