Biography

Pacific Northwest Surf. You naturally think of bands like Satan’s Pilgrims, The Surf Trio and other great surf bands based out of Portland, Oregon. The Verbtones are working to earn a spot on that list. The band was formed in 2001 by VFF (Verbtones Founding Father) and lead guitar player “Neo” who recruited Steve Lewis on skins, Chad Segur on rhythm guitar, and Ritchie VonDead on upright and electric bass. Together they showcase their haunting, spine-chilling vintage-yet-modern surf melodies to ho-dads and grimmy’s in Oregon and beyond. These lads have a true love for today’s surf music and a respect for their surfin’ forefathers that have influenced their unique sound... a time capsule from yesterday that some how seems right for today.
