Cl?ment Batut belongs to those ever-changing and prolific artists, like there are many others in the world. The kind of highly gifted musician, who writes eccentric songs (Garcimore and the ptite souris orchestra), as well as psychedelic post-rock (he also plays guitar with the brilliant All the Living and the Dead). His last project, The Wedding Soundtrack shows a more intimist side of this figure, with a truly rare quality of songwriting. The lyrics denote an irresistible sensibility, and a deepness that would ridicule lots of so-called french poet-singers. His musical ambience is filled with the fragility of american folk (Elliot Smith), or the restrained violence from the slo-core style (Pedro the Lion). In short, these songs are so beautiful you may cry... And Cl?ment is endowed with an undeniable charisma on stage.
