If you didn't know Thunderball was associated with Thievery Corporation, you'd pick up on it after listening to a few tracks. While the DC-based duo has a pair of Thieves to thank for their inspiration, the better-known pair in part owes Thunderball thanks for the ESL label's '60s design aesthetic.
Thunderball expertly craft cinematic, dub-laden compositions full of intrigue, effortlessly changing tempos between D&B, breakbeat and downtempo. Steve Raskin and Sid Barcelona are the agents behind Thunderball, drawing from their love of ‘60s cinema, Brazilian beats and Afro funk rhythms, to create explosive soundscapes designed for modern spy chases and late night encounters.
Thunderball first appeared on ESL's 'Dubbed out in DC' in 1996. Thunderball officially signed to ESL in 1998.
Today, Thunderball performs across the globe, both as DJs and as an 8-piece touring band.
