In 2002, Tim Watson's CD "Soultopia" broke into the top 25 in contemporary/smooth jazz radio play, earning the Pensacola, Fla., composer/producer major status within the genre. With his eagerly anticipated sophomore effort arriving in May '05, Watson is looking to bring his trademark neo-soul tone--all muted trumpets, sultry piano, and lovelorn lyrics--to an even broader audience.
One word describes Tim Watson's writing style, "addictive." I love it, Tim say's, "what's so neat about the whole descriptive process is that listeners tend to give you a word or phrase which appeals to them and mine just happens to be addictive."
The multi-talented writer, arranger and producer has also written melodies for commercial backdrops and radio stations from the East coast to California. He recorded his debut CD "Soultopia" in the spring of 2002.
The Co-produced "Soultopia" went beyond the young artist expectations, and charted in the top 25 "Contemporary /Smooth Jazz" spots on more than 46 internet radio stations and received mainstream airtime on various FM stations throughout the US as well as Asia.
His second solo effort, "Sunday Afternoon," is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2005. Already receiving "favorable" reviews from various music publications, DJ's, Producers, and industry musicians this project is set to blaze sales across the US and internationally. This project will renew not only your "musical self" but your love for the coveted relaxation we all long for but overlook and overbook with other "business" through-out our work week yes, we're talking about your Sunday Afternoon! Coming Spring of 2005 you'll be able to experience your "chill-mode" everyday of the week with "Sunday Afternoon."
"I was really excited about this project. I'm giving the listerner pictures through music, themes of 'life', 'love', and 'self.' I'm at the helm now and controlling all aspects of arrangement, instruments, and storylines it's real, I cant wait to share the completed project. This CD is definitely more streamlined in content. There are more variations of instrumentation, more "life-influence", more depth, and vocal hooks that will stay with you a lifetime. It is smooth, and mature the entire process is fullfilling and really fun."
