Who are Tizre ? It has often been said that Tizre are probably one of the most enduring and undiscovered bands of the UK !! While at the same time being the celebrated by fans who have come to appreciate their unusual blend of Ambient/soft pop music.?Their loyalty of their fans is growing. This is unusual in the sense that the group have never played live...and dont intend to !! "We are more comfortable in the studio, we have done the live circut in other groups, we enjoy the relaxed environment"? Disillusioned with the politics of the music business and endless attempts with other groups, Tizre decided to reduce their numbers and stick with three members. Terry Moorehead - Writer of songs and keyboards - Julian Jowitt - Guitar and sampling and finally Huw Stokes - Bass. It was Terry who persuaded the other members that they should recruit guest members, particulary in the vocal area. Mellisa Jacobs was brought in to provide a soulful and haunting voice to the recordings. And what is amazing not a professional drummer insight. Mellisa had already sung in a large number of bands and it was immediately obvious to the others that she was a natural addition to Tizre to help provide the pulse of their music. The unusual inclusion of swirling keyboards at the time is to give the band a very distinctive sound, setting them apart from their contemporaries. This flexibility and their experimental creativity are evident on an increasingly wide range of songs, with many stylistic twists and turns being showcased. Tizre have released 4 CD's (discography on web site) plus 1 CD single 'Our Star'.
