Long Beach artist Tod McLeod stands at the crossroads between singer-songwriter charms and alt-rock's pure power. With a driving backbeat and soaring vocal choruses, he could be a one-man Foo Fighter, but if stripped down, his songs would still rock acoustically.
TOD MCLEOD
Enthusiasm, dedication, and a love for songwriting have propelled Tod McLeod throughout the U.S. for over 5 years. He has played over 1500 shows, ranging from major clubs and colleges to festivals, gigging alongside powerhouse national talents. His voice is warm, yet poignant, evoking a touch of Sting and Chris Cornell. His creative songwriting and intense stage presence leaves lasting impressions on every audience he meets.
Tod is originally from Charleston, SC, where he began playing music at the age of 15. He has been a professional musician for the last 10 years, becoming proficient in lead guitar, bass guitar and lead vocals. He has performed with and opened for various artists like Darius Rucker, The Black Crowes, The Calling, Mathew Sweet, Filter and Edwin McCain, selling over 6 thousand copies of his music. His latest self titled independent release contains twelve tracks which he wrote, performed, produced and engineered.
Tod saved his allowance for months in order to purchase his first guitar: “I got it for 150 bucks from a local pawn shop, my mom wasn’t too fond of it because she was scared I would end up a musician….huh!” From there, he played in numerous bands around the city as a vocalist and guitarist. His schooling at Clemson University allowed him to expand his horizons in bands away from home, doing shows from Atlanta, GA to Charlotte, NC.
His solo career and new band have since reached new heights, and he is climbing higher than ever. He currently performs lead guitar and lead vocals as a solo act and with his new self titled group.
