It's often easier to judge pianists' skills not by their dexterity or technique but by the subtlety of their playing during softer passages. With a repertoire centered around classical and romantic works, Stanich proves he is just that sort of talent.

Biography

Tomislav Stanich was born in Herceg-Novi on the 4th of December, 1957. He grew up surrounded by art on the beautiful Mediterranean coast of Montenegro (Southeastern Europe). Mr. Stanich studied the piano under the tutelage of Milena Lucic at the Music Elementary State School in Herceg-Novi. Later, he attended the High Music School, "Luka Sorkocevic", in Dubrovnik (Croatia), studying under Professor Ivo Brangjolica. He then went on to graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts and Sciences (Academy of Music), in Belgrade (Serbia), earning his Bachelor of Arts degree under the tutelage of the Russian pianist, Igor Laszko. He received a scholarship and studied at the Paris Conservatory with Professor Theodore Parascivesco. He was awarded the Department of Music Scholarship at the University of Utah, and there earned a Master's Degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Gladys Rosenberg Gladstone and Douglas Humphreys. Mr. Stanich was an Adjunct Professor at the Salt Lake Community College. He now resides and performs in New York. He travels and performs overseas regularly.
