Tommy Cox has a unique sound and style. I enjoyed the song "Big Black Submarine". Tommy Cox has a voice that catches your attention from the first word he sings.

Tommy is one of the greatest "HERO"s for subvets. Any "bubblehead" worth his salt knows Tommy. I have the privelege of knowing him and his wife, and the proud bearer of three signed songs...one of which is Big Black Submarine. He has a unique talent of saying what most of us can't. Most people can't understand us. Tommy's songs shed some light on that. Rich voice, easy to listen to and you get a feeling that you know what these guys are about. After 20 years and 5 boats, memories flood me when I listen to Tommy. It aint easy being a submariner...but some nut has to do it! THANKS Tommy!

No matter what era of submarining - the diesel boats of WW II and the 50s, early and current 'fast atttack' nuke boats, or the mighty 'boomers' with their intercontinental missles - Tommy has written and performed songs that tell it like it is.
Whether you're an actual submariner or a family member of one, or simply really interested in submarines and the men who sail in them, Tommy Cox's albums (particularly 'Take Her Deep') are must-haves for your music collection.
As a submariner myself, I can testify that Tommy is a treasure in the 'Brotherhood of the Dolphins'.

Tommy Cox is a unique writer and singer of songs that no one else can really understand but those who would go down in boats. His words resonate with the feelings that all Submarine Sailors have felt from the very beginning of the Submarine Force. They are a very special breed of man...for they have served and continue to serve the United States as one of the best peacekeeping forces on this Earth. His music reflects times in our country of war and of peace. They are words from the heart in truest sense.
May those words continue to resonate about the proud, strong group of men who would give their very lives in defense of our country, The United States of America!

I have been listening to Tommy's songs for over 30yrs. I had the great honor of making 2 runs with Tommy. 1st on the Billy BATES and the 2nd on the "OLD" Bergall....his music and humor made the runs go by quickly......Tommy's music keeps on reminding me of my service, of the "BOATS", and the times my wife and daughters were without a hubsan and father.....

When you spend months underwater on a submarine, finding ways to relax are crucial. I think most boats had a handful of musicians, many of whom were guitar players. Listening to Tommy's music takes me back to being on patrol, sitting in the torpedo room, listening to an impromptu "underwater concert." Tommy's music is the genuine article.
