What if Massive Attack got hooked on Morphine? Australia's Tania Bowers, a.k.a. Via Tania, makes thoughtful indie trip-hop (with all that genre's skittish beats and wispy vocals), then adds a streak of low-end growl. Most endearing are her gorgeous pop hooks, which play aching vocals against everything from organs to triangles.

Via Tania is back with a new, small collection of songs. Last we heard from Via Tania, was getting on a plan to travel to Chicago, Iceland, France, London and Japan to record music for her new album to be released in the fall of 2005, although things have been kept under wraps at Classix studios those who were fortunate enough to get tickets to Via Tania’s two sold out shows in Chicago were able to hear what Tania has in store for the future, Until then here's True will hopefully hold you over till the album is released, for those who may not be familiar with Via Tania’s music "True" is the perfect introduction to the sublime musical world of Via Tania.
Hailing from Australia via Chicago, Via Tania aka Tania Bowers returns to the musical fray with "True", the latest track lifted from her critically acclaimed and CMJ College Chart hit album "Under A Different Sky".
The single features a re-recorded version of "True", with washes of Psych-guitar, bubbling bass, and the ebb and flow of Tania's unmistakable Vocals. Also included are exclusive tracks "The Best Thing", "Felt Cave" (a remix of "In The Deep" by Tortoise's John Herndon under his A Grape Dope moniker) and the album version of "True" in all its starlit, campfire-ballad glory.
