Biography

As far as band history goes, we formed in early 2001 following a victory in a local battle of the bands. We self released a full length album (The Sunshine State) soon thereafter in the summer of 2001, and soon garnished a following, playing mainly bars, private parties and charity events arranged by the band. We self recorded and released a 5 song EP (Loose as a Goose) in December of that year, and immediately following that started recording for our next CD.

Our next full length album (Fresh Squeezed) was recorded in Boston at the Art Institute in early 2002, and released later that spring. Following this release, in response to the demand for CDs, our albums were made available for purchase at area CD stores. In October of 2002 we opened for the Gin Blossoms at Bates College, among other gigs in area bars and Wheaton College, and started recording our latest release in the winter of '02-'03. Prior to the release of this album (Get into the Grove) we scored an opening spot for Stroke 9 at Wheaton College for their "spring weekend" in April '03.

The past summer consisted of playing bars, parties, and charity events. The highlight stemmed from an appearance of one of our tracks off of "Fresh Squeezed" on The Studio syndicated radio program from Mojo Music Studio, which gave us national and global exposure. Upon hearing "Get into the Grove" Mojo asked us to come and play live in the studio, which we capitalized on in January of '04. According to them we are one of the most requested bands for that show, and consequently our songs have appeared on subsequent shows. Currently we are working on our newest effort, which is slated for a late spring release.

Welcome to Florida consists of 4 New Hampshire teenagers intent on making accomplished music, both interesting to listen to and easy to enjoy. We are dedicated to our multiple instruments, and frequently share in the composition of songs, not delegating any one member as the "front man". Currently Reilly, JZ and Duncan are attending Connecticut College, Bates College, and Keene State College respectfully, with Wes finishing up high school this spring.
