Like a bird, Nelly Furtado flew away. Dido thanked us for giving her the best day-heys of her life--then she disappeared. Lucky for soft-rock fans everywhere, there's no hint of imminent escape in the gleaming dream pop of Whirl. The group concocts tasteful, soaring ballads that owe more to British chart-toppers than anything in their native Hackensack.
