Derek 'djdeewreck' Gedney is the founder of 'Wreckless beats'. He also owns 'Control Ring Publishing' & is the president of 'Wreckless Entertainment'. Deewreck grew up in Westchester County, New York back in the 80's & 90's. Born in 1971, to David & Wynne Gedney.....who did nothing but exspose him to music every chance they got. When Deewreck turned 10 years old, the rap scene was making it's way out of the Bronx & hitting mainstream media & growing. Red Alert & Chuck Chillout were pumping out the jams on two very popular New York radio stations, 98.7 WRKS (kiss fm) & 107.5 WBLS. Every weekend Deewreck would listen & record the 'mastermix dance parties' that were broadcast on both stations in order to study & analyze the amazing new sounds that were being created with two turntables. One year later, Deewreck bought two used (akai belt-driven) turntables from a flea market & would practice 'spinning' everyday after school. Always trying new things to better his skills, aswell as teaching some friends the basics. Once high school came around, Deewreck, & his partner Andrew Gulla (DJ ACE).....started to become very well known thoughout the local area as the hottest DJ's around. DJ Deewreck & DJ ACE formed "Full House DJ's" in 1986 & went into business. As one of Westchester's hottest DJ acts, featuring professional MC's & Dancers too.... 'Full House DJ's made plenty of noise for over the late 80's & early 90's. After high school....things fell apart for 'Full House', CD's came along & brought along a million 'store bought' DJ's!!! In no time, there were hundreds of (so called) DJ's everywhere taking away a lot of the business from all of the 'Hardcore Crate Luggers'......DJ Deewreck & DJ ACE split & went their separate ways. Now, 10 years later....Deewreck decided to write the music that the DJ's play. With limited tools & some original ideas, Deewreck has written some of the newest & hottest sounds for the future. He believes in innovation & originality & respects all music & musicians regardless of age or genre. He believes that music is the universal language of mankind. Deewreck also believes that writing music is an artform & should never be judged as good or bad music. Music is a freedom of exspression, like painting or writing poetry. There are no boundries or limits & no right or wrong when it comes to exspressing one's self. As long as the truth is told & the energy is felt, Deewreck will keep bringing the heat when it comes to writing beats!! ONE LOVE...........MUSIC!!!
