Editor's review

In an earlier generation, a violinist of Akeynikova's skill and training would have headed straight for a traditional classical career. But we get to hear her tackle everything from New Age to rock. Add versatility to virtuosity: Akeynikova can play with soft strokes or wield her bow like a sword.
