As a child who dreamed of making it to the big leagues, Yohany was a fan of and often found herself imitating the songs and vocal styles of Whitney Houston, Madonna, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, and other celebrated artist.
In 2003 Yohany was a finalist for a Billboard Music Award and performed in Florida as an opening act for Enrique Iglesias.
